1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Alice AI Tutor mobile application ("the App", "we", "our", or "us"), you ("you" or "User") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the App. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and the operator of Alice AI Tutor.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Alice AI Tutor. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have obtained your parent's or legal guardian's consent to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. Description of Service
Alice AI Tutor provides AI-powered English language learning, including:
- Vocabulary cards and practice exercises
- AI conversation practice with virtual tutors
- Mock test simulations for B1, IELTS, and other English proficiency exams
- Pronunciation feedback and speaking practice
- Progress tracking and achievement badges
The App is an educational tool designed to assist with English learning. We do not guarantee specific test outcomes, certifications, or fluency levels resulting from use of the App.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
Alice AI Tutor offers free and paid subscription tiers ("Standard" and "Premium"). Paid subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store ("App Stores") in accordance with their respective terms.
By purchasing a subscription, you acknowledge that:
- Subscriptions automatically renew until cancelled through your App Store account settings.
- You are responsible for managing renewals and cancellations through your App Store account.
- Refunds are subject to the policies of the App Store, not Alice AI Tutor.
- Prices may change. Significant price changes will be communicated in advance.
- Free trials, if offered, automatically convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before expiry.
Cancellation: To cancel a subscription, go to your device's App Store settings → Subscriptions → Alice AI Tutor → Cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
5. AI-Generated Content
Alice AI Tutor uses third-party artificial intelligence services, including Google Gemini, Microsoft Azure, and ElevenLabs, to generate conversation responses, feedback, and audio. AI-generated content:
- May contain inaccuracies, errors, or unexpected output.
- Should not be relied upon as the sole source of language instruction or factual information.
- Does not represent the views or opinions of Alice AI Tutor or its operators.
You acknowledge that AI feedback is provided as a learning aid, not as a substitute for qualified human instruction or professional examination preparation.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Use the App for any unlawful, abusive, or harmful purpose.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the App's source code.
- Submit content that is offensive, threatening, harassing, or violates any third party's rights.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the App.
- Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the App or its content.
- Share your account credentials with others.
- Use the App to develop a competing product or service.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules at our sole discretion.
7. Intellectual Property
All content in the App — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, illustrations, animations, audio, software, and the Alice character — is owned by Alice AI Tutor or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your personal, non-commercial educational purposes only.
8. User-Generated Content
Voice recordings, text input, and any other content you submit to the App ("User Content") remains your property. By submitting User Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to process, transmit, and display your content solely to provide and improve the App's features.
We do not store voice recordings after your session ends. Text-based input may be processed through third-party AI services as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using the App, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
- Defects will be corrected immediately.
- The App will meet your specific learning needs.
- AI-generated feedback will be accurate or appropriate.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ALICE AI TUTOR AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.
Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Alice AI Tutor and its operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
13. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at our discretion, with or without notice, for any reason — including violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or extended periods of inactivity.
Upon termination, your right to use the App ends. Sections 5 (AI-Generated Content), 7 (Intellectual Property), 10 (Disclaimers), 11 (Limitation of Liability), 12 (Indemnification), and 14 (Governing Law) survive termination.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Apple App Store Additional Terms
If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply:
- These Terms are between you and Alice AI Tutor only, not with Apple Inc.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
- Apple is not responsible for any product warranties, claims, or refunds related to the App.
- Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
