- Voice input: Speech recordings during practice sessions, used only to generate real-time feedback. Recordings are not stored permanently.
- Usage data: App interactions, session duration, and feature usage to improve the app experience.
- Device information: Device type and operating system version for technical support purposes.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and personalise your English learning experience
- Track your learning progress and achievements
- Generate AI-powered feedback on your spoken English
- Improve and maintain the App
- Send optional learning reminders (you may disable these in Settings)
4. Third-Party Services
Alice AI Tutor uses Google Firebase for authentication, data storage, and app infrastructure. Firebase is operated by Google LLC and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
We also use the following third-party services to provide core app functionality:
- Google Sign-In — account authentication
- Apple Sign-In — account authentication on iOS
- Google Gemini AI — processes conversation text to generate tutor responses and feedback. Text from your spoken input is sent to Gemini's API for this purpose.
- Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services (TTS) — converts tutor responses to spoken audio
- ElevenLabs — generates high-quality AI voice for Mock Test examiners (Premium users)
- RevenueCat — manages in-app subscription purchases
- DeepSeek AI — in regions where Google Gemini is unavailable (including mainland China, Hong Kong, Russia, Iran, Cuba, Syria and North Korea), AI conversation responses are instead processed by DeepSeek. Please refer to DeepSeek's Privacy Policy for details. Most users — including those in the United Kingdom, United States, and Europe — use Google Gemini and are not affected by this.
Each service has its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for these services to function.
5. We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing or commercial purposes. Your data is used solely to provide and improve the Alice AI Tutor service.
6. Data Retention
Your account and learning data are retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Voice input is processed in real time and is not stored after your session ends.
7. Children's Privacy
Alice AI Tutor is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and data
